Celebrating Our Shared History. Supporting Each Other Today.
Originally established in 1993 as SARA, the Surrey Ambulance Service Association (SASA) is a welcoming community for former and current NHS ambulance staff across Surrey and Sussex.
We’re here to keep the connections strong, offering support, friendship, and a shared sense of pride in our service. Through welfare support, social gatherings, and the preservation of our ambulance heritage, we honor the past while looking out for one another today.

Our Heritage
From the hum of the first Daimler ambulances in the 1950s, to the evolution of the paramedic role and the brave response during moments like the 7/7 London bombings – our history is rich with dedication, duty, and heart.
For over 75 years, Surrey’s ambulance service has been shaped by the hands and hearts of those who served. We remember not just the milestones, but the moments – the laughter, the teamwork, the quiet pride of a job well done.
